Okay so the past 24 hours have been pretty hectic to say the least. I mean one minute I am in the beautiful Florida and the next I am in Guildford, UK. First things first..Yes Mom I had way to much luggage but it all made it here safe and sound. The flight was an overnight flight tried to sleep but couldn't so I watched Paranormal Activity [yes they played it on my plane] and don't know why people thought it was so scary it definitely wasn't it was slow and funny. However, I did get a couple of hours of sleep.
After arriving at Gatwick airport around 9a we had to take a train from the airport to Guildford [where the school is located] then we had to take a 5 min taxi ride from the trainstation to campus where I am living. The weather truly lived up to London's reputation today being cold & wet and gray skies. Blue Skies please show yourself at some point thank you! And someone told me the weather doesn't get better until about Mid-Summer [which of course Ill be gone by then] After arriving on campus we met up with Elyssa and then headed over to Chancellors, it is a pub on campus and at 12:30 in the afternoon this place was packed with students drinking and socializing with friends. The only beer people would recognize would be Corona and Guiness. I had Bulmer's beer and it was very tasty with a hint of citrus. I've noticed all of their beers so far have a different flavor to them. After grabbing a drink we headed into the town of Guildford to pick up some things that we needed and the town was very pretty and busy. I can't wait to take pictures and show you but the weather was so gloomy and we were all just too tired. After walking around all day we headed to Tesco [supermarket] to pick up a few things and then came back to campus and had dinner. Now I am in the library because internet is not set up in my room yet but will hopefully be by tomorrow.
Okay, so my floor is Level 3 but in UK terms its Level 5. Between the MASSIVE hills on campus, walking everywhere, and my 5 flights of stairs I definitely will not need to hit up the gym. Let me tell you more about my flat...I have met 6 guys and 3 girls so far but there are still 4 missing. There are 14 rooms total and we share a kitchen, 3 showers, and 3 baths. The baths and showers are separated so there is privacy even though it is co-ed. I will take pictures at a later date because I am beyond exhausted. There is so much to tell but tomorrow is orientation and I have to be up early and even though it is only 8p here and 3p at home I have just been up for waaaaay to many hours and need to go to bed because I am falling asleep at the computer.
And now here is your British word for the day:
Club Soda = Fizzy Soda
Also they don't call it an English Muffin..it's just a muffin!
oxo CHEERS!
