Let's see, well after being sick all weekend I finally got better. So glad I decided to bring medicine from home with me. But had to get tissues, and since I'm on a budget, I got the cheapest ones. Lets just say my nose did not like me to much after that one... Maybe I should have splurged? Oh well... too late now.
Trying to remember what I did this week; what I do remember is that it rained ... A LOT! I had training to become a radio presenter on the campus radio station, and get this: if I do present you will be able to listen to me online! So, I will definitely keep you posted on that one. However, I do think the reasonings for not doing anything is 1) The rain and 2) everyone else has been sick as well.
Thursday night though we took Jen's sister, Rachel, came to visit and after a 5 hr plane delay and not being able to get a hold of Jen she made it here safely. So we took her into town and went to 2 pubs, I think the first one was called Farenheit but the second one was definitely called Tudor Lounge.
The Tudor Lounge also had interactive tables that we were highly amused by, see video:
Friday we went to Windsor castle and the Queen happened to be there at the same time, giving out medals, so the State Apartments were off limits, which meant the ticket was discounted by 1/2 the price! And if you got your ticket validated [which we did] you can come back for a year...FREE OF CHARGE! Here are some photos:
The castle was very pretty and I definitely need to go back so I can see the state apartments. After the castle we had lunch at Witherspoons, have I mentioned how much I LOVE not leaving tips! Then afterwards we went to this sweet shoppe and picked up a few treats for the ride home. That night we then went to a house party with a local band playing. Honestly, wasn't impressed with the band but the house party was packed! The only thing missing was the red solo cups, haha.
Saturday & Sunday (today) consisted of lots of group project work. But Saturday night Chris, Jen, & I opted for a wine & cheese night and it was sooo delicious! BEST decision of the week! We had a shiraz, riesling, white zinfandel, and this dessert wine (favorite of the night). The cheese was gouda, brie, some cheese with pineapple flavor and an almond coating (best one!), cheese with blueberries and cranberries, and some other cheddar cheese that was supposed to have a fruity flavor but it definitely didn't. So, I might've had a little too much wine but it was definitely worth it :) Wish I would've had my camera with me to take photos but sadly I did not, don't worry there will be another wine & cheese night in the near future.
Then tonight of course had to watch the Canada v. USA Men's Hockey game. It was a great game, but sadly the US only took the silver. Now hopefully the Canadians won't rub it to bad in our faces. The US did bring in the most medals though, so congratulations!
Let's see...this week consists of London on Monday with Jen & her sister. Tuesday is comedy night @ Channy's. Then who knows what else; but EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND on Friday! OMG SOOO EXCITED, I hope this week goes by fast, it's our first trip and we are ALL going so it will definitely be a lot of fun. I got really lucky with the people here we all get along so well and our constantly laughing and joking around. I mean w/o a TV we have to find other ways to amuse ourselves, it's like we are living in the stone-age!
So its 2a here and I definitely need to hit the sack soon but before I go let me tell you about some things I learned this week:
1) Mother's Day is March 14th
2) do NOT say "Double fisting" here
3) "You alright?" is their version of "What's up?"
4) they do not say Awesome
SWEET DREAMS
